WARNING! LONG POST! LONG POST!
Haiz. I'm still not getting the urgency of exams. Sian. Must work harder sia. I dun wanna prelims to repeat again leh. WAKE UP! GO MUG! Bleh. Must really get more serious about stuff. Anyways, went to JC Open Houses today, my 2 schools I'll most probably go to---- ACJC and AJC. And well... It was not very... Effective.
(Note: At the start, I was leaning against AJC)
Well, I met up with James and went to the first school, ACJC. Its was about 20 mins MRT ride and 10 mins walk... So it was ok. In fact, the first impression of the school was quite impressive, I must say. Walk in and immediately we recieved a timetable and Venues of significant things (CCA, offered subjects) and talks(Principal to Students, Teachers to Students).
Then.... we recieved the goodie bag. Looked in... And wow, there's an installation disc for MapleSea Aqua Road.
-.-'!!!!!
Lol. So we went to the CCA booths first, and they conveniently put all the CCA booths in the air-conditioned (LUCKY!) hall. First booth that attracted me? CHESS LAH! Went over and pwned the guy lol. :P. Btw, did I mention that the First Aid Club actually gave out free PLASTERS? LOL. O yah, James was looked on my a mime. LOL.
Ok. Next we went to the “subjects” room. I went over to the Mathematics booth and was quite amused :P. (There are 10 types of pppl in this world. Those who understand binary, and those who don’t. Geddit? Lol)
After that, it was off to AJC!
Lol. Overall, ACJC was below average… And that AJC can’t get worse.
OR SO WE THOUGHT.
Ok AJC took about 30 mins MRT and 3 mins walk. We walked into the gate, and was cheesy-ly greeted by a bunch of AJC girls. -.-'. Well, when we walk further more in, we see a bunch of AJC ppl doing nothing.
I mean it. Bunch. At least 50 there. Talking amongst themselves. One was even on a handphone lol. In the end, as we approached the foyer, we were “confronted” by 2 boys. Lol. His first sentence?
“You 2 from BP? Come I bring you around. We wanna slack!”
-.-. ok… So first thing. Wanna go Elements room?
Woooo… Elements room. We got in, and it was just a Science Laboratory. Yup Fancy equipment, but… All talk.
“This equipment is for extraction of oil!” This equipment allows you to indetify substances from chromatography”
And that is supposed to make me like that school?
We did have a hands-on though. Invisible Ink (aka. Lime juice).
Wwwwwwoooooooowwwwwwwwwwww~~~~~~
And we most funny thing of all? He gave the wrong explanation of why invisible ink works.
He said, “The invisible ink has citric acid in it. And it corrodes the paper a bit first! So it allows the heat to burn the paper faster! The other parts of the paper will turn brown later also.”
BULLSHIT.
Correct Explanation, “Citric Acid in the lime juice that oxidize when heated, which usually turns them brown.” Dun get it wrong ppl. Lol
O yah, remember those 2 that was supposed to be our guides? The only statement they made thru the whole time was,
“Sry, we haven’t been here before, so we dun know anything.”
w00t.
Next, they led us to the CCA booths, which were nicely split into 3 parts. Hall, some walkway a short walk from the hall, and the sports ones were…. Somewhere else (We nv saw it).
Ok. Firstly we saw the ones on the walkway, which was, not well-built. Lol. Actually, other than the lack of banners, they were fine. Other than a Club that gave the name they gave to themselves and not showing what they ACUTALLY do. We nv did find out what they did.
Ok. Next the hall, we entered the hall and w00t! A change! Everything was great, well decorated, well arranged. Except for the chess club which was basically 2 International Chess Sets, 4 Chinese Chess Sets, a few tables and 5 Trophies. No banner, no nothing.
Of course, I challenged one of them! (How could I resist?). Well, basically, I won him (Won’t bore you with the details), and it was quite a good match.
Btw, for CO dizi juniors…I SAW EVELEN! Lol XD. HAHAH! XD
Also, remember the 2 tour-guides? They left us here. After only the CCA and Science Lab.
O, yes, did we mention that subject combination was only this pathetic small room that we’re expected to notice? And that the condition of its canteen is worse that our school?
Lol. So ends the Open Houses. Current JC choice?
I DUNNO!
Lol. After the Open house, I accompanied James to get his chocolate, for somebody, but I dunno who. Basically, we went to Orchard Road Tang’s Plaza, The Cocoa Trees to get the chocolate (Woah, High-Class). Ate Mac, and GO HOME! FINALLY!
So, anybody wants my MapleSea’s Aqua Road installation disc?
