This is just a post to vent my anger. Comment on it if you want, I'll ignore each and every comment made on this post.
Basically, this post is dedicated to the topic of healthy competition. Why do we have competition in our lives?
True, competition is a necessity in our lives, leading to the discovery of new things and inventions of... well, new inventions. Without competition, there would not be the additional push to... well, push us to succeed.
If competition is truly that good, then why are there people shunning competition?
1) They, themselves are slackers. fine. That I accept.
2) There are people out there who don't how to compete properly, and is out to only win.
For those who don't exactly understand (2), it basically means that they do not care about their opponents at all. Their self-centerness would then lead to the complete disappearance of healthy competition. In order to WIN the competition, he would do anything. Even to the point of hurting others emotionally. They have no ability in imagining sympathetically the predicament of another person.
To make it worse, some of these people actually like this type of competition. And would search for them.
Now I question you'all, would you like to be a competition where your opponent acts like a complete asshole?
For those with the ACJC GP Package on Education, perhaps you would like to read the article on Pages 12 and 13, "Teaching Humanity", Newsweek August 21/28 2006. The increasing number of such people seriously shows how successful is the Arts and Humanities Education in Singapore.
Pathetic.
