Actually is this rather old news, just that I never really got across to comment about it lols.
In case you'all didn't know, the last week, the MDA(Media Development Authority) released a Music Rap Video by their Senior Management about the MDA's visions into the future.
So first, the video. (A cookie from Derek for those that can finish watching the whole video without breaks.)
Ok, wasn't that just great? =D.
Needless to say, its quite obvious that quality-wise, the rap video has been a complete waste of the tax-payer's money. I mean, seriously, as senior management you don't think they really had much singing lessons in their life right?
Nevertheless, the aim of the video, spreading the visions of the MDA for the public? How did that turn out?
Unfortunately, for the pure point that the only reason I knew about the video was through http://www.mrbrownshow.com/ says a lot. While it was supposed to be publicising about the MDA, the video itself was not publisied much at all.
What the hell? Then do publicising video for what? Its like making bread to eat, then throwing it into the trash bin - A Complete waste of resources, in the case, the taxpayer's money!
Let me put this clear, my issue with the video, is not because it was not good quality-wise, but that it was completely unpublisiced, which deficts the original purpose of the video in the first place, leading to a giant wastage of the taxpayer's money.
Well, at least we should be gald that the MDA is still trying to keep in touch with the Singaporean's community, in this case, youths. Unlike, the FCC(Federal Communications Commission) of the United States which just makes decisions from the table up there.
But still, the video itself is a blatent reminder of how far the MDA is from the youth's pop-culture in Singapore. I would think twice before saying that I have anything to do with the MDA's publicity department now. While it is a good try to interact with the public, it was definitely not good enough, for the amount of money they probably spent making the video.
Anyways, just 2 more comments before I close off another ridiculious part of Singapore's history.
1) Mr. Man, the Director of Broadcast and Flim Development "know good directors at the back of his hand". Yet the director of this video is obviously no where near a Singaporean Stephen Spielburg =).
2) Dear Mr. Yeo, the Chief Information Officer, Halloween was over slightly more than a Month ago. And not many children would even choose to wear a Superman costume, much less a man of your age =).
