I refer to DongWei's recent post 2 days ago, Gracious Society? My Arse! as I start out on what I saw today on the way home.
I actually had a mind to be blogging on my take on that day in question also, but decided not to since it would probably be about what he wrote that day.
Today, I saw the most ridiculous passenger I have ever saw in a train before. The guy was like in secondary school. And he was sitting on the MRT floor at rush hour period.
And if you say that's normal? Guess what, he's sitting right in the middle of the passenger door facing the station.
This has to be seen to believe, I should have taken a photo of that inconsiderate bastard. I mean, sitting on the floor blocking everybody's way is bad enough, you actually choose the sit on the floor IN FRONT of the sliding doors to the MRT Station?
I mean? Eh? Have you completely no thought for the other passengers? It's the damned rush hour! There are tens of people coming in and out of every carriage at every station, and the packed trains are not helping. Are you that weak or disabled that you have to sit down in that kind of conditions and IN FRONT of the sliding doors somemore? Is the view from down there really that superb?
You should have seen Adelene's and my face when the doors open to reveal that punk sitting on the floor and refusing to budge for anybody walking in and out of the train.
I have not even commented on the adults that dunno more to move into the inner sit in the bus, nor others who naturally repel from the center of the train.
Is this the kind of children that we are bringing up in today's Singapore education system? Something is wrong; there is no doubt about that. But honestly, I don't care about that. What I care about, is what can be done.
The Liberals out there can give me plenty of excuses that its not happening and its just an anomaly in the Singapore Education System. However, we do realize that the occurrence of an anomaly already shows that it is not perfect and can be improved.
So I suggest shut up. And start teaching your children some manners before they run the country you're living in in the future.
