Went for the 2nd day of AstroChallenge 2008, 9th of June. Didn't go for the first day of the competition simply because there was no point in going there to watch the teams answer their written test papers. Finals was held at day 2.
Initially I was intending to pang seh Xin Jie and not go one, but because of my conscience, I went even though I woke up an hour late of the agreed meeting time. Reaching the compound, it was almost the end of the Junior Category Buzzer round already, so I didn't miss much of the JC competition.
Really nothing much to describe about the competition. ACJC turned out to get 2nd overall, so well done guys =D
After the competition, the whole bunch of us then went to have dinner together. For convenience sake, we went to Jurong Point from NTU and ate at Crystal Jade.
That was probably the most expensive bowl of noodles I have ever had. Seriously, it was $7.80 and I probably wouldn't have been able to tell the difference between the texture of their handmade noodles and some maggi mee.
Moving on, we were also deciding on some after-dinner entertainment, and ended up watching a movie. And simply because it had my catch phrase in it, I became the star of the movie as we went to watch Kung Fu Panda. (Or Kung Fu Kok, as they would call it.)
Was quite a decent movie though, really got me laughing on some parts of the movie. Though, it would be more correct to classify it as slapstick comedy than a proper movie.
What I had a problem with was with the advertisements before the movie. O god, how corny can advertisements get nowdays?
Unfortunately, I couldn't find an online source of that Allswell drink advertisement, thus we shall leave it as a mystery until the next movie you go to.Eat that you pirates!
However, some the advertisement for the upcoming Pixar movie, 'Wall-e' was ridiculously funny though. But who can ever beat Jack Black at comedy? =D
