Chapel.

Today's chapel was about love. And the speaker, Mr. de Souza, gave an impressive speech. Speaking about the difference between love. Of course, I did disagree on most of the part that was slightly evangelistic in nature, but that's a whole different issue altogether.

He spoke of love. That there are two forms. Romantics and the other form. Romantics being defined as 'puppy-love', where its just a momentary feeling that wears off very soon. Just simply self-centered need for someone beside us.

The other form, there was really no specific word used. But simply, its what, as from him, could be defined as 'true love'. Where the focus was not on yourself, but someone else.

Of course, I did feel that he was missing up on the very important issue of commitment. I would expect that we would be committed towards the other in whatever we do do. Simply because you want to.

..

I used to think, and even question myself, if whatever I'm going through, is really just pure obsession. Rather than love. It really seemed that I was just driven by my hormones, and the pure fact that I was doubting myself said a lot. Even up to the point of rejecting myself before anything began.

Now I look back, I remember my actions. I remember my thoughts. I remember my worries.

I remember my commitment.

And so I will carry it out. Because I am committed. Because I know that's what that should be done. Because I know it is for the best.

If you do read this in the future. I'm sorry for being a pain in the neck. I'm sorry for putting you through everything. I'm sorry if it wasn't what you want.

I'm sorry, but its for the best.

Walking In Memphis by Marc Cohn
Put on my blue suede shoes
And I boarded the plane
Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues
In the middle of the pouring rain
W.C. Handy -- won't you look down over me
Yeah I got a first class ticket
But I'm as blue as a boy can be

Walking in Memphis
Walking with my feet ten
feet off of the Beale
Walking in Memphis
Do I really feel the way I feel

Saw the ghost of Elvis
On Union Avenue
Followed him up to the gates of Graceland
Then I watched him walk right through
Now security they did not see him
They just hovered 'round his tomb
But there's a pretty little thing
Waiting on the King
Down in the Jungle Room

(Chorus)

They've got catfish on the table
They've got gospel in the air
And Reverend Green be glad to see you
When you haven't got a prayer
Boy you got a prayer in Memphis

Now Muriel plays piano
Every Friday at the Hollywood
And they brought me down to see her
And they asked me if I would --
Do a little number
And I sang with all my might
And she said --
"Tell me are you a Christian child?"
And I said "Ma'am I am tonight"

(Chorus)

Put on my blue suede shoes
And I boarded the plane
Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues
In the middle of the pouring rain
Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues
In the middle of the pouring rain
