Books

Woke up at 2pm today, no idea why i ended up sleeping in so late. Spent the afternoon finishing Sam's Letters to Jennifer by James Patterson. I enjoy his style of writing, but I must confess that his thrillers are much better than his Romance novels. Same goes to Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas. Though they are still worth the read.

Went off to return the books in the evening, and ended up returning with more books. Deadline's at 16 Dec, hopefully I'll finish them in time.

1. Not the End of the World - Kate Atkinson
I was initially starting on the book, but the first few pages in and I just deemed the book unreadable for me. Perhaps its my personal preference in language, but 11 pages of almost bimbotic talk was really just too much to take. It really seemed so promising though, upon realization that the short stories were linked together. Was hoping for a nice puzzle to fit together in the end, but looks like I'm just not the target audience.
2. Human Croquet - Kate Atkinson
I'm 28 pages in and still reading. The book did open up a bit oddly, but I guess it was still readable and not full of bimbos. The language is hitting me a bit, but I guess its because I've been reading Patterson and was kinda expecting straightforward stories. But still a good read up to now, hopefully, it'll get even better.
3. The Diviners - Rick Moody
4. Step on a Crack - James Patterson
5. The Thomas Berryman Number - James Patterson

That's on the fiction side of things, while for non-fiction,
6. Frommer's Japanese Phrasefinder and Dictionary
Just getting myself started, intending to learn it in NS anyways.
7. The Math Instinct - Keith Devlin
Haven't read it yet, but I have a feeling Pooja would enjoy this book.

To wrap this post up,
You can tell I'm bored.
