Bridge and Coffee

Labels: ,

Spent the whole day yesterday dedicated to bridge and maths. Was supposed to be at Sim Lim now, but my dad had something up suddenly, so its postponed to a while late.

Yesterday morning, went over to Benjamin's house to teach lebensohl and 4 way transfer. Played a small teams competition with them as well. While sometimes they do still look worrying at bidding, their play is almost solid now. The only mistakes they make are probably made by most average players around anyways.

The session finished at about 4.45pm and I left for Bishan to work a bit on my maths before the night game with Shaun. Reached Bishan at 5.30pm, had an early subway dinner and finished reading my book at 6.30pm. Borrowed a new book, Last Man Standing by David Baldacci, and decided to try the coffee at Dome and do a bit of maths while the time passed.

The mocha at dome was surprisingly excellent though. And for $5, it was much more cheaper than most designer coffee brands. The place also was rather conducive for work too, at least during that evening.

Halfway through my work, I decided to do a little stretch and looked up. And noticed that there was a decoration on the ceiling, and I was very amused by the sight.

If I still had a camera, it would have been much easier, but I'm left to describing the image. Its actually indented in in a dome, and basically, painted like a globe, much more of the underside of the globe. And on one small part, they wrote down the brand name, "DOME."

What was amusing was that the words were split into two, so it became.

"DO ME."

I cracked up that moment leaving the waitresses to wonder what they allowed such a madman into the restaurant.

Bridge on the other hand was rather disappointing though, Shaun and I are intending to train even night on BBO from now on, whenever free. Hopefully we'll get better.

Signing off.
