KL/Genting Trip.

7 December

Today was the flight day. I woke up rather late at about 12noon due to a late night, but it was still ok as the flight was scheduled in the afternoon at 4.15pm. Was surprisingly calm about it though, its my first time on a plane. My mom claims that I've been on a plane once before as an infant of about 4 months old, but who the hell remembers that? Took a cab from home and reached Changi Airport at about 3.15pm. Took our tickets and went into the departure hall first. Had some coffee from The Coffee Bean in it, before going to the gates. And I still think that the coffee bean is the worst coffee chain of them all. Gosh.

Anyways, went to the waiting hall at D42(Durian!...sry.) and started watching the Amazing Race repeats on the TV there. Was amused to see little kids hogging around the free Internet access booths and attempting to play Flash Games. Time came and then we just boarded the plane. It was amusing to also see the plane drive in, i swear, if a car drove like that you probably won't get your driving license.

Boarded the plane, and waited for takeoff. My dad forced me into a window seat, knowing full well that I was afraid of heights. Down the runway, engine roars, plane speeds up and wooo! Off the air.

I have no idea what happened through the flight. I had my eyes closed and I was 5 mins away from peeing in my pants. Thank god the flight was 30 mins long. I swear I'll never fly again.

Reached KL and waited a ridiculous amount of time waiting for the luggage before meeting my uncle and headed down to meet the rest of the relatives. It was a ridiculous ride. It was a 1 HOUR RIDE from the Airport to KL. Ridiculous, its not even near any city, its like an airport in the middle of NOWHERE.

Met with the family and ate some ba ku teh at some roadside stall. Was very nice, too bad I forgot the name of the stall and didn't any pictures cause I didn't have the phone, my dad did. Anyways, food was good, even had a good view of the Petronas Twin Towers.

Ate, went off to the apartment we were sleeping in. Did a bit of maths into the night and fell asleep. The living room was ridiculously hard to sleep in, must be the damn hard couch.

8 December

Woke up at about 9.30am. My cousin, was going to get married at about 12.30pm later in the day. Yah, it was an afternoon wedding, uncommon, but not non-existent. While it should have discouraged quite a lot from drinking, it seemed to have not happened, will dwell into that later.

Anyways, woke up, feeling goggy from sleeping late the night before and changed for the dinner. Hitched a ride from the groom's brother, Kelvin, off to the wedding venue. Which I did not take pictures for again, damn, what an idiot i am. The wedding was taking place in.... damnit, I can't even remember the name of the restaurant. Food was decent, and the red wine even more, as from my dad. Look from the point that every table took an average of 1 bottle, I don't see why not.

Dinner started with everyone waiting. Yes. We came well too early, and the wedding started way later than expected at about 1pm. First dishes came out with a bang and scared my other cousin's baby. Gosh, was cute to see it smiling after it stopped though. (Pedo!) Food was decent, and I could be going on and on about the food, but I doubt you wish for me too. Dad and I went down for a short game of pool with the 6 inch table in the pub downstairs from the restaurant. After which we took Kelvin's car with his mother back to their home to drop her off before going off to Genting. Yet on the car ride back, a call came in from the hotel that some friends of the grooms has started fighting amongst each other, completely drunk. What a way to end the wedding. Ended up that Kelvin dropped us off, returned to the restaurant to deal with the aftermath and fetched his drunk brother and groom back. Heard that it was nothing much, so it was ok I guess.

Ended up I went up to Genting with cousin #4. (Seems like the best way to keep in track of them all. To say the truth, I dunno most of their names, just by face. I'm not really in touch with my relatives. Neither my dad nor my mom's side of the family.) The ride up was ridiculous. Because it started to rain, the mist was thickening and parts of the ride up, you couldn't see 5m up the road. It was scary, and damn cold as well. I got up to Genting later to see it at 13Degrees. Reached Genting at about 4pm and waited till 7pm for our hotel rooms. Took the 3 hours to complete traverse about the First World Shopping Center since we were living at the First World Hotel. Even had time to have Starbucks. To tell the truth, everything was the same as the last time I was there. First 2 posts down from December 2007. You can access the archives back with the tagboard.

Anyways, what was different:
1) The Christmas Tree was replaced with a large Effiel Tower. Not as majestic though.
2) They were vigourously publicing some new Magic troupe coming into Genting called Dreamz. Was interested, but it was at 9th of February.
3) I didn't get to eat Kenny Rogers this time. Had no chance, damnit.
4) My family and relatives ate their dinner for the night at Ah Yi restaurant, RM 1000+. And I wasn't there. I was feeling giddy and sick from the lack of sleep the day before, so I took a nap myself in the hotel room for about 2 hours.
5) Went out with my bro and cousin #5 after I woke up. Went off to play a bit of LAN, and prices continued to be at a steep RM15. Ridiculous. Went off to eat MaryBrown because Kenny Rogers was closed, and met my niece when she walked by with her mom. She then followed us while her mom when back to her hotel to sleep. It was already 12am then.
6) Walked around the place and my brother left us to go back to the hotel. Went off treated them to Starbucks, last order of the day. And we just sat there and talked a bit before going back. Threw a coin at the wishing well while at it. Got it at the first shot, irony was, didn't wish for anything.
7) Went back to the hotel and watched Fred Claus with my brother all the way to 4am. Mom bought some MaryBrown for us as she returned from the Casino.

9 December

Woke up at about 9am and went about to explore the whole of Genting with my bro and dad before checkout time. Halfway through, my dad confirmed his work to be in the afternoon, so he left us to work, and I walked around with my bro. Tried the new Rambo game, was decent, but not great. Just decent.

Walked all the way to Hotel Genting to see see look look, but no pictures because my dad took his phone with him. Played another hour of LAN waiting to meet my mom later in the day as I got the information that the meeting time was changed to 3pm before dad left.

Got back at about 2.30pm and walked about the place once more. I tried the Wishing well again, with a wish this time, and missed it. The irony. hahas.

Saw a gift that would suit Elicia there, got it for her, probably for Christmas? Lols.

Decented to KL on my Uncle's car and went off to KL to Kelvin's Mom's apartment. Talked for a while and left for dinner. Some good food too. About 100RM. Which Kelvin paid for. After which he brought my family off to Mid Valley shopping center. He wasn't joking when he said that the place was large, damnit, it was the size of 3 Vivocities, and we only managed to go around half of it before the shops started closing. I was intending to buy more gifts, and items to make some. Went into Arts Friend and bought a few packets of cotton balls. Ironically, it didn't have paper of a shade of colours that I needed, so I ended up only getting the cotton balls. Returned to his mom's place and talked for a while more while we waited for my dad to finish his job at Klang. Met him at about 1.20am and went back to the same apartment as the day before to spend the night. Didn't do any maths this time, slept immediately.

10 December

Woke up with rashes that I carried with me even up to now. My mom gave me some funy name, but I never got around to looking for the english term. She has completely no idea how i happens, but she knows the traditional remedy and I've had boiling rice wine wiped over me 3 times already. And its STILL ITCHING.

Back to the past. My family, being my family, did not plan the return trip even till this morning. Went all the way to Sunway Pyramid and Aerobus to look for a coach ride home. Ended up that there were no seats left. Went for lunch and then off to Mid Valley to look for a ride with Airebus. And got it, but it was late into the afternoon at 1.15pm, didn't help as the traffic jam postponed the time to 2pm later. We had 4 hours to burn and Kelvin was with us all the way. We spent the time at Starbucks and we managed to talk. Talked about his work as a mechanical programmer, how he goes around as a freelancer.

Now I really enjoy meeting people like this. To speak the truth, Kelvin was really someone I wish to be like in the future. The kind that will really do anything for anyone, and can talk to anyone, can be friendly with anyone he knows, and even a good sense of humour. Really, even his taste of songs was great, with great music playing from his car. When his elder brother was a drunken mess, he still returned back to stop the fight and even carry his brother back. Now, his brother is larger than me. That's incredible. There's something missing from his life I guess, yet again, which brings be to wonder if I could change that part for myself in the future. Or if I even need it. To say the truth, when we had to leave on the bus, I was a bit sad to leave him. Would wish to talk more in the future.

Went around the other part of Mid Valley halfway through to look for items to buy. Ended up buying Isabel's gift there. Can almost see her killing me. lol.

Watched 2 and a half movies on the way home. Alvin and the Chipmucks first followed by Ratatouille. Now Ratatouille was really great. Like, really good. I likes the ideas throughout the movie. Very cool. Watched a bit of Jumper but had to stop as we reached Singapore. Left the coach at the Tuas Checkpoint and took CW3 all the way to Jurong and then a cab back to Singapore.

Slept early, was itching too much.

11 December

Spent the day making gifts in the afternoon after clearing James' house of fliers in the morning and buying red paper.

Actually, I spent the day wallowing in self-pity and really practically emoing myself to hell. But lets just screw that. No reason to wish for the impossible.

O btw, it still itches! T_T lols.
