Far Behind Time.

Went out for a outing with Vanessa and Isabel in the afternoon. Intention was to have a picnic at the Marina Barrage and play Mahjong and fly kite there. Was rather excited in the morning actually, can't remember the last time I actually flew a kite. I remember it was back when I still went to my Grandparents house, back in Secondary 2?

Met up with Isabel first in the afternoon, found out that Vanessa was probably still asleep halfway through the train ride to City Hall first. Ate some famous chicken rice stall at Change Alley I believe? Was rather good, but wasn't really impressed by it much. Isabel was though. Halfway while having lunch, we then managed to wake Vanessa up from her eternal slumber, and decided to go to City Hall so Isabel could do some shopping while I just learnt more about the area.

To be very honest, I still remain astounded by the fact that most shirts cost over $40 easily in most departmental stores, even T-shirts and everything. Perhaps its the mindset of living in a hearttown that has brainwashed my head into thinking that T-shirts should be as cheap as dirt since its only worn at home and in the most informal occasions. Not that the $40 tag on a polo tee isn't surprising to me.

And so Isabel reserved her shoes from Robinsons and bought a Jacket from Springfield, while I took the liberty to indulge myself in a nice Mocca Frap. It actually became more of a chocolate frap rather than a light one because the counter guy didn't seem to understand the meaning of holding the chocolate.

Met up with Vanessa at the MRT and traveled down together to Marina Bay where we took the shuttle bus to the barrage.

I'm not very fond of the word, lets just call it a dam.

The barrage dam is rather nice though, was my second time there, despite the fact that the MRT station is nowhere near a spot for relaxation. It was still a few days away from Valentines, so it wasn't surprising that the number of people there weren't much. Started off allowing Vanessa to have her chicken rice followed by flying 2 kites like little kids afterwards.

Was especially amusing when the kite was actually printed with Batman and Robin. Lost a few years right there.

After a bit of flying, Isabel twisted her ankle and grazed her knee, and I didn't know until she walked back all the way to the... campsite. So we just stopped and played Mahjong while we ate the sandwiches after Vanessa brought her down to the toilet to clean her wounds.

Mahjong was rather amusing considering that there were many school trips for children to the barrdam that day. They were all look at us, even the speaker for the trips were amused at what we were doing.

Played to the afternoon, packed up, and went back. Reached home and just died to sleep that night.

And I quote from Derek, the celebration of being unwanted. So us four guys decided to just waste ourselves away through the day. But before that in the morning, I went off to teach bridge to the AC kids. Were teaching 2 new students, and thus going through the logic of the basics with them. Left promptly at 12noon to hopefully reach RSYC in time at 12.30pm.

Ended up to be the late, but the earliest one there. I should have known.

Waited and talked to Derek for a long time, and swam after Xin Jie and Dong Wei arrived. Gayed around with kids with their rubber raft and dolphin/shark/floating mammal.

Moved off to West Coast Recreational Center to pool for a bit, then L4D for 2 hours. Completed 2 advance levels in 55 mins, beginning to get VERY sick of that bloody game.

Suddenly I realized that zombie games are irritating, possibly because I've just finished Half Life 2 and getting my shit scared off me by the stinking headcrabs.

Moved on to Xin Jie's House for games in Wii until 11.15pm, and took the bus home.

Super Mario Star Party and Mario Soccer.

Bridged at Sunday game with an Indian Gentleman. 4th, so I guess it was a decent result.

Went to work in my father's workplace. Was ordered to clean an engine off its sludge before he pieced it back together. My father finally had enough of me using his money doing volunteering work.

In case this sounds easy, cleaning engine, let me first tell you that it isn't with water, nor detergent. The only way to wash off sludge in an engine, is using Diesel. So you're sinking your hands in oil to clean out even more oily stuff.

Ridiculously dirty and boring. Probably can make it into Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe. I still have some black stains on the edge of my fingernails that I still cannot manage to wash off. Have to speak the truth that I didn't do much actually. Still, its hard work.

*Hats off*

Touch Family Services. Was supposed to be calling up the parents to inform them that the Children's program for some upcoming seminar was filled up, and that they had to be sitting in the hall with their children. While I called the bulk of the people, ridiculously, the Xin Jie and Elizabeth, a staff member there, were the ones that got the unreasonable parents.

As evil as this sounds, it was amusing to see them flamed to no tomorrow. Probably will get my turn soon.

Touch in the morning, and bridge in the afternoon.

..

Good, finally gotten this done. I was rather pissed at the lack of pictures, but I guess nothing could be done when I only have an NS phone with me now.

Too bad.

..

In addition to above, good news from the PSC.

Dear Kok Hong,

Congratulations! I am pleased to inform you that the Public Service Commission is offering you a scholarship. Our offer is as follows:

"

Yet, I'm still worried about the postscript.

"
Please note that the subsequent confirmation of the scholarship award is contingent on you obtaining:
(i) Good A-Level Results;
(ii) Medical Clearance;
(iii)University Placement; and
(iv) Displaying good conduct during your NS to the satisfaction of the Public Service Commission.
"

To be honest, I'm worried of stipulation one and three. Hope I don't screw up econs that badly, and that I'll be able to get a place in Cambridge soon.
