Ok lah, WCG was actually ok, but below my expectations... Maybe its just because mine is just too high. Lols.
Let's start from the front =D.
After bridge today, I moved down to City Hall then Suntec City... Into Convention Hall 602. Arriving only 5 mins later, I was surprised to already see some of the cosplayers there already, all dressed up.
Firstly, allow me to comment that the cosplaying was teh pwn this year. I mean, the costumes are all damn nice. They're all damn accurate. Even the host of the cosplaying competition, her Chii costume was damn nice! Like a complete replica lah! Erm, will put up peektures later =D, when Derek finishes uploading them =D.
Ok, going in... As expected the whole place was very loud, with speakers blasting everywhere in all directions from every sponsor's booth in the Hall. So then first was a booth for the upcoming Halo 3 and other X-box 360 games. That booth was cool, with a life-sized replica of Master Chief right in the middle. Damn cool. Master Chief Peektures coming up too =D.
After that, that was some small merchandise shops selling small stuffs. Basically only 2 appealed to me.
1 was a mousepad shop cause I needed a better mousepad.
And another was the Shop Selling the collectible T-Shirts for the Competition. I went thinking of buying a shirt.. Unfortunately, it wasn't what I was looking for. Last year, the shirt was just a black T-shirt with the words 'WCG Asia 2006' and its logo printed right SMACK on the chest.
This time... There ain't no logo at all. Instead, where were all shirts that were made to attract the public, not to commenerate the event. The words 'WCG' were printed with the weirdest desifn, on the weirdest design. The only one that wasn't like that was a white/black polo Shirt with its collar of the opposite colour and a small logo of WCG on the right breast.
I didn't buy the shirt.
Moving on, was the Philips and Asiasoft booths.. Nothing much to say about them actually, just decent decoratations, decent stuff to exhibit lah.LOL AT MAPLESTORY, PANGYA 2, AUDITION AND GETAMPED. =XX.
Then there's the gaming area.. Which is just like every year... Lols. Then some basketball machine in the middle of nowhere.
Yah, just that 1 machine. Right there. For ppl to throw. With nobody to look at the machine. Lols great marketing strategy.
Then there was the Intel Booth. The most hyped up booth in the Hall, with 2 competitions going on. A CS 1.6 mini competition and a 'Singapore Fastest Geek' competition. The latter being a competition of the speed to assemble a computer maunally. FYI, the commentator there was the same as last year's. LOLS.'Woo nice head. =P'
Then there was a Guitar Hero 2 platform. I went up to try the game a bit... Nope, cannot make it lah LOLS. O2jam FTW!
That was the stuffs all at the side of the hall. The center of the hall was the Main stage, the Singnet Booth and Animax booth.
Main stage... Need I say more? Just the stage for Exhibition(Though I only watched one), Competition(Cosplay competitions) and the likes lah.
Then Singnet booth... The most empty booth in the whole hall I think. Derek and I were thinking of leaving the Starhub webpage on one of its computers. I wonder what would happen if we actually left it there...
Then Animax booth. 1 TV many Chairs 1 channel. Freeflow anime. Owns. Also got quite a gaming area. Not bad. With quite a few games that I've never seen before but they're all quite fun though. Maybe should search for them online later.
Went over to Sim Lim Tower at 2.30pm to buy my NTU Project materials. Maybe its because alone.. Its not really fun to stay for very long at all lah. Like no one to talk to. T_T.
Ate Subway before I went over... First time eating from Subway and I discover a staple in my sandwich... Even got me bleeding sia... Zzzz. The staff wanted to replace my sandwich but I didn't accept cause I already finished the sandwich anyways. Well, at least it was good! Lols.
At Sim Lim Tower, I needed to buy a Photoresistor, varible resistor, mugger crocodile wires and a battery casing.
The whole of Sim Lim Tower only has 1 shop selling photoresistors and they dun have the specifications for them.
Zzz. Bought it anyway, and hopefully its change in resistance isn't too huge. Will post update later. =D.
Went back to the exhibition with Derek at 3.30pm. Just in time towatch Hybrid vs xQr. Great win by xQr with 13-16. Really competitive match Lols damn high.
Basically, the 2 of us just went around the whole place again, took lots of photos of cosplayers and the likes...
At 6.30pm, we went down to eat at pastamania. When we reached, I felt my pocket.
Shat, I lost my phone.
Went all the way back to the Animax booth, picked it up, and went back.
Sry Derek! T_T T_T.
Had pastamania. First time again Lols. Basically, I learnt 2 things from there today. First, that Italians are rich to afford that type of food, and second that Italians had chilli padi in their menu... Or at least mine did... Have a LOT.
Then went back home lor. Lols.
